Today, I Am Grateful For...

Day to day life can sometimes be exhausting, overwhelming, and just down right tedious. It seems as though there is a never ending checklist constantly weighing on your mind, making it nearly impossible to take a second to breathe. While I do enjoy staying busy and active in my work, I take the time to remind myself to think about what I am grateful for each day. I know that I am a much happier and healthier person when I stick to this daily practice. So today, let me share with you just five (of many) things that I am grateful for.
The animals and people I share my life with. Our two dogs, Lily and Luna, have blessed me with their love, trust, and companionship. They made me a mom, and I couldn’t be luckier to protect and care for them every single day. Our two horses, Knox and Crackers, have allowed me to create rewarding partnerships with them. As simple an act as closing their eyes when I rub their foreheads is a connection and feeling nearly impossible to describe. My wonderful partner, Hunter, has continued to support and love me in all of my endeavors. Our shared life means the world to me, and I am so lucky to call every day with him an adventure.
My support system, near and far. I am grateful to have a whole crew of people on my side, always supporting me in pursuing my dreams. My group may be spread out across multiple states now, but I know that I can pick up the phone any time of day and have the support and love of numerous people, no matter the distance. Every equestrian knows that it takes a village to make this all possible.
Living on this beautiful property with acres of open space and an amazing facility for continuing to grow my dreams. We are so lucky to be able to live in Aiken, especially on this beautiful farm. We have been searching for a house of our own to purchase over the past few months, and it has been draining. Having the connection to Courtney Cooper that allowed us to rent her amazing facility has been the biggest blessing, and I know that my entire family is grateful for the peace and serenity this home has allowed us to live in every day.
My health and youthfulness. These days, it has become a little easier to remember how lucky we are to simply be alive. Don’t get me wrong, there are days I wake up and just don’t feel like getting out of bed. Maybe it's from being tired, or anxious for what the day might bring, or, most commonly, the fact that my back is aching like an 80 year old’s. But every day that we get to wake up and put our foot in the stirrup is a great day.
Blue skies and sunny summer days. Although the heat can be a little intense in S.C., I am so grateful that I have been able to ride almost every day since we moved. Blue skies with just a few clouds has to be by far one of the greatest blessings in any equestrians’ life.
Thank you for joining and supporting our community. We are so excited to have you along for the ride!
Until next time,
Jess
